The Williamson Turn Stand with Knee Pad is a rotating platform with a handle bar type support that is used to assist in transferring a patient from one sitting position to another - for instance from sitting on a bedside to sitting in a wheelchair or on a commode. The patient leans forward and grasps the handlebars for balance and is helped to a standing position on the Turn Stand. Then, the automatic brake is released and the platform is easily rotated to the desired postition. The patient is then helped into the new seat - all done safely and comfortably. How The Williamson Turn Stand Works:
(A more detailed video is includes with each order)

Preparing for use. Tilt the Williamson Turn Stand back onto it's two sturdy wheels and push the empty stand into position as close to the bed or wheelchair as you need. Then stand the Turn Stand upright and position the handlebar support so it faces patient.

1. While the person is sitting on the edge of where they are being transferred from, place the person's feet squarely on the Turn Stand's skid-resistant platform and have them grab onto the handlebars.

2. Assist the person to a standing position on the Williamson Turn Stand's skid-resistant platform (person needs to be at least 50% erect). Have the person hold on to the handle bar to help maintain balance.

3. The caretaker squeezes the brake handle and then slowly and smoothly rotates the person to the desired location (anywhere within 360 degrees) and locks the Williamson Turn Stand platform by releasing the brake handle.

4. The person is assisisted to the desired sitting position -- chair, bed, wheelchair or toilet.
