The lightweight, sturdy construction, and safety features of Winmed, Nova, Probasics, Invacare, and Drive Medical adult and junior 2-wheel walkers  can make a big difference in the ability of a mobility-impaired person to engage in any walking activity that might be too much of a challenge otherwise.

Two-wheel walkers have 2 front wheels which help assist a person when walking without having to pick up the walker. Most walkers fold for easier transport and portability, as well as height-adjustable to fit individual needs. Additional features may include a seat so the individual may take a period of rest while walking.

Who is a 2-wheeled walker best for?

If you have an unstable gait but don't need to bear a lot of weight on the walker, a 2-wheel rolling walker might be best for you.

Do you carry walkers for children?

We carry walkers that go as low as 25" for the handle height. Use the filter on this page to sort those out.

What's the advantage of a folding walker?

Unless you only plan to use your walker at home, the ability to fold it makes it easier to transport in a car or store if/and when you don't need it any longer. For those reasons we advise everyone to spend a little more for the folding feature. You won't regret it.

What's the benefit difference between a 4-wheeled walker and a 2-wheeled walker?

A four-wheeled walker is designed for more stabilization and balance during walking, whereas a two-wheeled walker is designed to bear more weight and provide more support.

Which is better, a 2-wheeled walker or a walker without wheels?

Walkers without wheels offer the most support because they don't have wheels that can roll under you, but they must be lifted to move forward. When doing so, they can get caught on uneven surfaces. Walkers with front wheels are better equipped to accommodate uneven surfaces because they don't need to be lifted.

How to Use a Two Wheel Walker

(00:09) Hi Cindy again, physical therapist with Adaptive Equipment Corner. Today we are talking about how to use a two-wheeled or front-wheel walker and that's what I have with me here now. The type of person that may use this is someone with weakness. someone with balance issues, you may have an injured or weak leg, or you may have had surgery on your leg. This is the appropriate walker for that. Now some people get concerned that this walker may get away from them. The only way that this would happen is if you're using it (00:39) incorrectly, and that would be typically pushing it way too far out in front of you and putting a lot of weight through it. Otherwise this is a very stable walker. It will hold a lot of weight and actually the majority of my clients prefer and use this type of walker. So I'm going to show you how to use this walker. I've got  my injured leg indicated by the pink wrap on my shoe. Okay so you're going to push this walker forward. You don't lift it you just push it forward. You're going to advance your (01:08) weak leg or your injured leg right into the mid part of the walker. You're going to put your weight through your arms and then you're going to bring your good leg through. You're going to push the walker forward. Bring your weak or injured leg forward, weight through your arms, bring your good leg through. Okay, the other thing I want to also demonstrate is, is if you just have general weakness or balance issues, you can use this. I like this walker because it allows a very natural walking pattern. so in that (01:38) case you're going to stay right up with the walker. You're going to push it and use your natural walking pattern as you push it. Okay, let me demonstrate that again. You're going to just push the walker forward. Stay right with it and you're going to walk as normally as possible. Okay there's how you use the two wheeled or front wheel walker. that's it for today from Adaptive Equipment Corner. Thank you for joining us and don't forget, if you can't do it, adapt it.
