Description

Lifts up to 400 lbs. ••• Accommodates 2, 4 or 6 point slings ••• Manual levers adjust boom height and base width ••• 4" swivel casters with 5.5" base height ••• Helps make transfers safer for both patient and caregiver ••• Multiple sling options available

The Highest Lifting Range in the Manual Lineup. Your Choice of Blue or Silver Vein.

The Lumex LF1030 and LF1031 are the same 400 lb. hydraulic patient lift in two frame colors — Blue (LF1030) and Silver Vein (LF1031). What sets them apart in this manual lineup is the lifting range: the boom height at the sling attachment adjusts from 27.4” to 80.3” from the floor — the widest range in our manual patient lift lineup. That 80.3” maximum is meaningful for caregivers working with elevated beds or high transfer surfaces. An optional DSC260 digital patient scale attaches directly to the lift for care situations where patient weight monitoring is part of the routine.

About Lumex

For over 50 years, Lumex® (a proud brand of Graham-Field) has been trusted by healthcare professionals and home caregivers alike for engineering industry-leading patient mobility solutions. Built on a foundation of uncompromising safety and exceptional durability, Lumex patient lifts are designed with practical, real-world ergonomics in mind — featuring ultra-low profile bases for tight spaces, 360-degree rotating spreader bars for smooth transfers, and foot-pedal adjustments to eliminate caregiver strain. When you invest in a Lumex lift, you are choosing institutional-grade structural integrity, rigorous safety testing, and reliable manufacturer warranties designed to bring ultimate comfort to patients and complete peace of mind to caregivers.

Why We Like This Lift

We carry the Lumex LF1030/LF1031 because the 80.3” maximum boom height is genuinely useful — caregivers working with elevated hospital beds or high transfer surfaces will use every inch of that range. The 27.4” minimum is confirmed for floor transfers. The optional DSC260 scale is a practical add-on for care situations where patient weight is regularly monitored. The choice of frame color is a small thing, but it matters to some families who care about how equipment looks in a home setting. If you need more than 400 lbs. of capacity, the Tuffcare P1000 is the bariatric option in this lineup.

Best for…

  • Patients up to 400 lbs. who require full-body lift support for daily transfers
  • Caregivers working with elevated hospital beds or high transfer surfaces — the 80.3” maximum is the highest in this manual lineup
  • Care situations where patient weight monitoring is part of the routine — the optional DSC260 scale attaches directly to the lift
  • Families who want a choice of frame color to suit their home setting — Blue or Silver Vein at the same price
  • Medicare-eligible patients — manual hydraulic lifts are covered by Medicare Part B when criteria are met
  • Floor-level transfers after a fall — 27.4” minimum height confirmed for floor use

Feature Highlights

27.4” to 80.3” Lifting Range — Widest in the Manual Lineup

The boom height at the sling attachment point adjusts from 27.4” to 80.3” from the floor — low enough for floor-level transfers at the bottom of that range, and high enough to clear most elevated beds and surfaces at the top. The 80.3” maximum is the highest in this manual lineup, which matters when working with raised hospital beds or non-standard transfer surfaces. The manual confirms floor transfer capability at the 27.4” minimum. Confirm the floor transfer approach with the patient’s physician or physical therapist before first use.

Two Frame Colors — Same Lift, Different Look

The LF1030 (Blue) and LF1031 (Silver Vein) are identical lifts in every specification — same capacity, same dimensions, same warranty, same price. The color choice is purely aesthetic. For families who care about how medical equipment integrates into a home environment, the option to choose is a small but meaningful detail Lumex built in.

Optional DSC260 Digital Patient Scale

The DSC260 scale attaches directly to the LF1030/LF1031 and allows the caregiver to weigh the patient during the transfer — no separate weighing step, no separate piece of equipment. For care situations where patient weight is regularly monitored — wound care, nutritional management, fluid monitoring — adding the scale at checkout is a practical solution. The scale is available at checkout for an additional $900.

Ergonomic Pump Handle Placement

Lumex designed the hydraulic pump handle placement on the LF1030/LF1031 specifically for ease of use. The handle position facilitates smooth operation and reduces the physical effort required per pump stroke. The base opens and closes with a manual shifter handle; legs must be in the maximum open position and locked during all transfers.

1-Year Frame and Pump Warranty

The LF1030/LF1031 carries a 1-year limited warranty on the frame and hydraulic pump. If long-term frame coverage is a priority, the Proactive Onyx 32475 (lifetime frame warranty) and Invacare 9805P (3-year frame warranty) are worth comparing. The hydraulic pump is sealed at the factory — do not attempt to open it.

Your Options at Checkout

The LF1030/LF1031 does not include a free sling. You can purchase the lift without a sling if you already own compatible slings, or add a sling and/or scale at checkout. Choose your frame color at checkout — Blue (LF1030) or Silver Vein (LF1031).

Sling

No Sling
Choose this if you already own compatible patient lift slings in the correct size for your patient.
Full Body Mesh
Supports the patient from head to thigh in open mesh fabric. A versatile everyday sling suitable for most standard transfers. Mesh construction allows air circulation and is comfortable for extended use. Available in M, L, XL.
Full Body with Commode Opening
Full-body support with an opening at the base that allows the sling to remain in place during toileting — eliminating the need to remove and reattach during bathroom transfers. Available in M, L, XL.
Divided Leg with Head Support
Separate leg sections create a more secure fit and reduce the chance of the patient sliding forward. Includes head and neck support for patients with limited cranial stability. Available in M, L, XL.

Note: Slings cannot be returned unless in original unopened packaging.

Scale

No Scale
Choose this if patient weight monitoring is not part of your care routine.
DSC260 Digital Lift Scale (+$900)
Attaches directly to the LF1030/LF1031. Measures patient weight during transfers. If your care routine includes regular weight monitoring, adding the scale at checkout eliminates a separate weighing step and a separate piece of equipment.

Lumex Sling Sizing Guide

Sling sizing should consider the patient’s torso girth, weight, and body shape — not weight alone. If you are unsure which size is appropriate, call or chat with us before ordering. Always confirm sling selection with the patient’s healthcare provider.

Setup and Safety Notes

Patient lifts involve transferring individuals who cannot bear weight — making correct setup and safe operation essential for both the patient and the caregiver. Before assembling or using this lift for the first time, read the owner’s manual completely, paying close attention to all warnings and safety precautions. Do not attempt any transfer without prior approval from the patient’s healthcare provider.

Read the Lumex LF1030/LF1031 Owner’s Manual for full setup, assembly, and safety instructions (PDF, opens in new tab)

Pair It With

  • Additional patient lift slings — full body, commode opening, and divided leg styles in M, L, and XL
  • Hospital bed — adjustable height simplifies positioning the lift and reduces caregiver strain during setup
  • Commode chair — pairs naturally with the commode-opening sling for bathroom transfers
For the caregiver What to tell your loved one

This lift moves slowly and smoothly — I control every movement and I’m with you throughout the whole transfer. The sling is designed to support you completely. We’ll practice together a few times until it feels routine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a Hoyer lift?

Hoyer is a brand name that has become a widely used term for any full-body patient lift — similar to how Kleenex is used for tissue. The Lumex LF1030/LF1031 is a manual hydraulic patient lift that does everything most people mean when they say Hoyer lift: it uses a sling and spreader bar to safely lift and transfer a patient who cannot bear weight, powered by a hand pump rather than a battery.

What is the difference between the LF1030 and the LF1031?

The only difference is frame color. The LF1030 has a Blue frame; the LF1031 has a Silver Vein frame. All specifications, dimensions, capacity, and warranty terms are identical. Choose whichever color suits your home setting — both are the same price.

Can this lift handle floor-level transfers — for example, after a fall?

The 27.4” minimum boom height at the sling attachment is the starting point for floor transfers. Because the sling lays flat under the patient first and the straps do the lifting work, the LF1030/LF1031 can support floor-level transfers. Confirm the floor transfer approach with the patient’s physician or physical therapist before first use, and follow the procedure in the owner’s manual.

What is the optional DSC260 scale and who needs it?

The DSC260 is a digital patient scale that attaches directly to the LF1030/LF1031 and measures patient weight during the transfer. It’s useful for care situations where weight needs to be monitored regularly — wound care, nutritional management, fluid balance monitoring. Adding it at checkout eliminates a separate weighing step and a separate piece of equipment. It is available for an additional $900.

What slings work with this lift?

The LF1030/LF1031 uses a six-point spreader bar that accepts 2, 4, and 6-point slings. Full body mesh, full body with commode opening, and divided leg with head support slings are available in M, L, and XL at checkout. If you need a Small or XX-Large, contact us in live chat and we can order it for you. If you have questions about which sling is right for your patient, call or chat with us before ordering.

Does Medicare cover this lift?

Yes. Medicare Part B covers manual hydraulic patient lifts under HCPCS code E0630 as durable medical equipment. According to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (opens in new tab), coverage applies when the lift is needed for transfers between a bed and a chair, wheelchair, or commode, and the patient would be confined to bed without it. A physician’s order establishing medical necessity is required. Once your yearly deductible is met, Medicare generally covers 80% of the approved amount. ADHME does not bill Medicare directly — we provide a detailed paid invoice with the HCPCS code for you to submit. Any direct Medicare billing requires a Medicare-enrolled DMEPOS supplier.

Will private insurance or HSA/FSA cover this lift?

Many private insurers cover patient lifts when prescribed as medically necessary by a physician. ADHME doesn’t bill insurance directly, but provides a detailed paid invoice with the HCPCS code that you can submit to your private insurer for reimbursement. Contact your insurer before ordering to confirm your coverage and any required documentation. Patient lifts are also generally eligible expenses under HSA and FSA accounts — the paid invoice ADHME provides serves as your documentation.
